Alessandro Luongo

Research Fellow
Centre for Quantum Technologies, National University of Singapore

I am a research fellow at the Centre for Quantum Technologies at NUS. I earned my Ph.D. in quantum machine learning at IRIF (Institut de Recherche en Informatique Fondamentale, a research laboratory in Université Paris Cité). My goal is to develop state-of-the-art quantum algorithms. In my work, I identify computational bottlenecks of real-world problems and explore how quantum techniques can help.

My research interests cover areas such as quantum algorithms, quantum machine learning, quantum generative AI, optimisation and compilation of quantum circuits, and applications in cybersecurity, chemistry, finance, and other problems relevant to the industry. While my passion lies in the theoretical aspects of quantum computation, I actively engage in industry collaborations. This not only enriches my work by emphasising the significance of theoretical foundations, but also advances adoption of quantum technologies, shaping expectations and adoption of quantum computing in meaningful ways.
